Oklahoma State men’s basketball coach Mike Boynton has a new contract.

Boynton has agreed to a six-year contract with the Cowboys through the 2023-24 season. His salary will be $1.6 million in 2018-19 and rise $125,000 each subsequent year.

At $1.6 million, Boynton would still be the lowest-paid coach in the Big 12.

He will earn $11.5 million, reaching $2.23 million in 2023-34. The contract is a two-year extension to his original five-year, $6 million contract.

In Boynton’s first season as head coach, OSU went 21-15, beating Kansas and OU twice and made it to the NIT quarterfinals.
