Woodward Public Schools went outside Oklahoma to find it’s next boys high school basketball coach, and it took them to West Virginia.

On Monday night, the school board approved the hiring of Jeff Williamson.

Williamson, who hails from Logan, West Virginia, has an extensive background as a high school head coach and assistant coach at the collegiate level.

Since 2014, Williamson has been the basketball coach at a high school in Salem, South Carolina.

As an assistant coach, he has worked at West Virginia University Institute of Technology, Salem International University and the University of Rio Grande. He also served as an assistant coach in his hometown of Logan.

Superintendent Kyle Reynolds said they are excited about what Williamson will bring to the program and there will be an opportunity for players and their parents to meet him in the near future.
